When we enter a new year, we often step into a motivated version of ourselves full of goals, resolutions and expectations. What if this year, we made a promise to let go? Instead of focusing on the changes we need to make, 2015 can be all about accepting who we are and how we are exactly where we’re supposed to be.
If you’re having a tough time staying present with your current life circumstances, use your power of thought and speech to manifest change. If you’re seeking happiness this year, go inside. And if you’re struggling to hold on, just let go.
1. Letting go will move you forward.
You can blame karma, the Universe, your childhood or even your loved ones for feeling stuck, but the truth is: you’re most likely getting in your own way. Your thoughts and words are powerful tools for manifesting the life you’d like to live. That’s why it’s important to let go of the stories that are no longer aligned with your highest good. Release the 10-year-old girl who was abandoned by her father, so you can welcome in a healthy relationship. Let go of all the fearful mind chatter, so you can be truly confident and courageous. If your thoughts control your reality, what is your inner dialog creating? Meditation is helpful tool for taking control of the mind. Learn how to meditate your way to a healthier life here.
2. The Universe has a plan.
Sometimes we think we know what’s best for us, but the Universe has an even bigger plan for our destiny. You know that feeling: when you think you’ve got it all figured out, then nothing seems to go as you intended. This is something bigger than us working to lead us down a purposeful path. We may think we have to hold onto something that no longer suits us, but often, the Universe will step in to teach us: when we learn to let go, there’s even more opportunity beyond our greatest imagination. If your find yourself grasping from a place of fear, try repeating this mantra: “I surrender to the divine plan that is always serving the highest good for me and for all.”
3. Non-attachment is the most liberating mantra.
When you learn to let go of attachment (or abhyasa), you start to recognize the many attachments, aversions, fears, and false identities that are clouding the true Self. For us at Love Grace, 2015 is about embracing what’s truly meaningful, rather than attaching ourselves to a list of expectations and resolutions. Remember: all is well, in this moment.
4. Release what no longer suits you.
So many people hold onto something that no longer suits them because they’re fearful of change. This year, it’s time to take action. Walk away from that job that no longer reflects your vision, so you can find your purpose. Or move out of that home that you’ve outgrown, so you can create expansion literally and spiritually. It’s not until you show you’re ready for more that transformation truly begins.
5. New change = new beginnings.
Change can be scary – we get it – but change is what helps us grow as human beings and ultimately as a collective society. Stepping into the unknown can be frightening or an exciting adventure. You get to choose. Letting go of our comfort zone and embracing small shifts is the first step to discovering bright new beginnings.
6. You already have everything you need.
Remember this, always. You can search for so many things outside of yourself, but you and only you have exactly what you’re seeking. What you are looking for in a relationship, in the apartment, the outfit, the job is actually a feeling. You are a self-generating beautiful human that can tap into and experience those feelings right now. If you’re seeking abundance, it’s in your thoughts. If you’re looking for love, it’s in your heartbeat. If you’re trying to find an answer, it’s in your soul. Life is not a scavenger hunt; it’s a magical journey of letting go to find your way back home.
