Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It is a thanksgiving to your body for waking up and it’s the healthy nourishment that you need to help you flow throughout the day!
This recipe is quite simple, but by adding a few magical plant powders, this turns a delicious breakfast into powerful morning medicine!
This is what you need:
Honey: 1 Tbs
Honey nourishes you with an assortment of vitamins and minerals. It also has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties
Chia Seeds: 1/4 C
Chia or Salvia Hispanica is and indigenous plant native to Central America, a staple food for the Aztec, Mayan, and Inca. The seeds are filled with healthy antioxidants and omega 3 fatty acids (more than salmon by weight). Chia is also chock full of protein, 4 grams per ounce!
Maca Powder: 1/2 tsp
Maca is a root powder indigenous to South America, it was used by native people to increase energy and endurance. The root is also known to balance stress and hormones.
Matcha Powder: 1 Tbs
Matcha is a powdered Japanese green tea used in traditional green tea ceremony. It has a milky flavor and is an incredible detox for the body. The tea boosts the metabolism, and is high in the catechin EGCG which has astounding therapeutic benefits for the body
Coconut Milk: 1 C
Coconut milk delivers vitamin B, C and E to the body. It is high in Lauric acid, a fatty acid that has anti-viral and anti- fungal properties. The fatty acid is found in mother’s milk and helps reduce cholesterol.
Clementine’s are delicious, and are a great source of Vitamin C and antioxidants. The fruit is also filled with large amounts of dietary fiber that help your body digest easier.
In a large bowl blend together coconut milk and honey, once honey is fully incorporated mix in the powerful plant powders, maca and matcha. This should be a beautiful earthy green blend. Take you time to enjoy the colors and breathe and set this aside.
Find your favorite container, cup, mug jar, and kindly put those wonderful little Chia seeds into the container. Pour the magic medicine mixture over these seeds and mix them all together. Place this in the fridge and let the Chia seeds soak up some of the liquid. When you are ready to eat it. Top this healthy nourishing Chia treat with the clementine’s, and bless your belly with this breakfast ☺
