Spring Cleansing with 10min Green Goddess Soup

Mike O'Brien Health, Love Your Body

Are you ready for new beginnings?

It can be a little daunting when Spring hits us after an introverted winter… we may feel like there’s a little gap to fill between what we’re feeling right now and the lightness that Spring embodies. That’s totally ok! Transitions are real thing… we don’t flip to a new season overnight, nor would that be normal.

So in honor of this huge transition from snow to cherry blossoms, we thought we’d give you a little head start to get closer to your perfect springtime version of you. Naturally, you’ll get a head start on your summer body too 😉 the spring equinox is just 2 weeks away – let’s prepare.

According to Eastern Medicine, Springtime rules the ‘wood’ energy of the liver and the gallbladder. It’s of huge importance to look after this vital organ as the liver affects our skin, eyes, joints… Stagnant liver energy can manifest as problems in these areas, and also affect things like the quality of our blood and the function of our digestive organs. So for our bodies to thrive and our skin to glow – we gotta show the liver a little love!

The resonating energies of this organ system are found in all things wood-y and green! Think leafy greens, dandelions, burdock root… also in all things sour like lemons and limes. All of these are found in this detoxifying and glow-promoting Green Goddess Soup Recipe below! We really believe in the power of food as medicine, and we hope you’ll enjoy this nourishing soup recipe that’s so simple to make! Pair it with a green juice, repeat bi-weekly, and we have no doubt you’ll be spring ready and glowing by the spring equinox 🌸✨
